What we do

Mission Statement:

To gather a community of people who will urge the university’s administration to formulate an overarching plan to move beyond coal. We will join students from all fields of study who are environmentally concerned to have the best resources needed to accomplish our goal of creating a clean energy future.

This change will not come suddenly. But as clean, renewable energy sources become more effective and affordable, we urge the university to commit to a date by which Mizzou will be a coal free campus.

In all that we do, we will stay true to these guiding principles:

•Remain committed to actualizing the dangers of coal in the minds of the community
•Be positive and cooperative while maintaining pressure on the administration to act now
•Amplify as many student voices as possible in every step of the process
•Encourage open communication with university officials, outside media and other student organizations
•Execute every action and event with innovation and excitement
•Respect all parties involved, as ultimately we are all striving for a better and more sustainable planet
